How To Find The Correct Nozzle Orifice Size

How To Find The Correct Nozzle Orifice Size

So you have bought yourself a new gas appliance eg gas hob or cooker, new or second hand, you realise that there is no LPG conversion kit with the appliance..................so how do you find out what are the correct nozzles you need, for example the orifice size (the size of the hole on the top of the jet measured to the nearest millimetre. I will explain below how to do this but first I will explain why this is so important.  Say for example you have a gas hob and the medium burner needs to have a 0.70mm orifice and you purchase a 0.65, you are not getting the correct amount of gas through so the power of the jet is reduced.

So back to what we were talking about, as an example you have a Beko HIZG64120SX, go to www.beko.co.uk type the model number into their search bar, click on to that model and scroll to the ‘support’ section and then click on the ‘download manual’, a PDF document will then appear.

What you are looking for is the technical specifications data table, on page 10 there is an injector table. This table tells you that the 1kw burner requires a 0.72mm nozzle if running on natural gas or a 0.50mm if running on propane, medium 2kw burner a 1.03mm NG, 0.72mm on LPG and then the large 2.9kw burner runs on a 1.15mm nozzle on natural gas and 0.87mm for LPG.

On this site www.lpgjets.com you will find 2 listings, one for this actual model which is the manufacturers and then a generic pack (cheaper) which includes the jets required only (so no conversion label or green fibre washer)

Best tip........................do your research, find this information and you WILL save money, Belling and Stoves are a prime example, they sell their conversion kits for around £50!! We sell them for less than half of that price but we all have multi packs which contain the exact same jet sizes cheaper again.

Sometimes the manual is hard to find on the internet, one great website which contains manuals for numerous manufacturers and models built over the years is www.manualslib.com again follow the steps as I have mentioned above, download the manual and go to the technical data table and the information is 9 times out of 10 in there.
